Slag Shield™ Acrylic Coated Fiberglass Welding Blankets
Steel Guard Safety's Slag Shield™ Black Acrylic Coated Fiberglass Welding Blankets are built for welding environments where slag and heavy spatter are the primary hazard. The black acrylic coating applied to the 28 oz fiberglass base creates a tough, abrasion-resistant surface that sheds slag and repels spatter, oil, and most liquids — extending blanket life in high-impact welding zones. Use these acrylic coated fiberglass welding blankets as vertical curtains for stick welding and MIG/arc operations, or lay them flat as surface protection in areas with medium spark and heavy spatter exposure.
Important: Not for Heat Treating or Stress Relief
Slag Shield acrylic coated fiberglass welding blankets are designed for spark, spatter, and slag containment in active welding operations. They are not suitable for heat treating or stress relief applications. For furnace work, heat treating, and stress relief up to 1800°F, see our Silica Welding Blankets.
Ideal for uses in:
• Welding vertically (as a curtain) — general welding with light to medium sparks
• Welding horizontally (as a blanket) — general welding with medium sparks
• Great protection against slag and spatter
